Strawberry MIlk

Ingredients

  • 4 cups strawberries roughly chopped (~ 32 fresh strawberries)
  • ⅓ cup granulated white sugar
  • 1½ cups whole milk: You can make your strawberry milk with whatever milk you have in the fridge, but whole milk makes the richest-tasting drink.
  • ½ cup heavy cream

SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS

  • More Milk Options: Feel free to switch out the whole milk for half and half, sweetened or unsweetened plant-based milk, lactose free milk, or 2% milk.
  • Swap The Sweetener: Instead of sugar, you can use honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, or any sweetener you prefer.
  • Thinner Drink: If you want a thinner drink, eliminate the heavy cream and use all half and half or whole milk instead.
  • Vegan Version: Coconut milk, almond milk, cashew milk, hemp milk, oat milk, rice milk, soy milk are all non-dairy alternatives to dairy milk and blend perfectly into a vegan version of this recipe.
  • Tasty Toppings: You can top your milk with whipped cream, ice cream, or chocolate syrup for an extra sweet sip.

How to make the best strawberry milk

This Strawberry Milk recipe is an easy and healthy way to make my pink milk because it is loaded with calcium, protein, antioxidants, and full of vitamins and minerals from fresh fruit and milk. A simple blend of 4 ingredients creates a frothy, fruity-flavored delicious drink–it’s better than any milk you’d buy at the market.

  1. In a medium bowl, add the strawberries and stir together the strawberries and sugar until berries are evenly coated.
  2. Leave the strawberries to sit in the sugar to macerate (soften) for 30 minutes.
  3. Blend the macerated strawberries with the milk and heavy cream until the mixture is frothy.
Pro Tip: I ran the blender through the smoothie cycle twice. Blend according to you likeness.
  4. Optional: Strain the strawberry milk into a pitcher.
  5. Serve in two glasses or refrigerate until ready to serve.
  6. Enjoy!

TIPs

  • Since the sweetness of strawberries can vary, feel free to adjust the sweetener to suit your tastebuds.
  • Don’t be too quick to throw out the strained strawberries. They are delicious in a bowl of greek yogurt, over vanilla ice cream, or even mixed into cottage cheese.
  • If you want to avoid lactose, use any type of lactose-free milk you prefer.

Storage Tips

  • To Store: Store this Strawberry Milk in the refrigerator, covered, for 2-3 days.
  • To Freeze: Strawberry Milk can be kept safely in the freezer for up to 6 months in a freezer-safe container, but the consistency may change over time. It will be best if used within one month.
