Ingredients
- Dark chocolate kisses: You can substitute 4 cups of dark chocolate chips if you don’t have the kisses.
- Peep marshmallow bunnies or chicks: You can substitute regular marshmallows, of course, though you won’t get the caramelized sugar top like you do with the peeps. But it will be delicious.
- Optional foods to dip: Feel free to use your favorite foods for dipping (I like graham crackers, pretzels, and vanilla wafers).
SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS
- Fun Fillings: When baking these s’mores, you can have fun adding other flavors and candy as you see fit. Some of my favorites include white chocolate chips, a few scoops of peanut butter, chocolate candies, (like Reece’s Pieces, Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups, and Rolos), a layer of Nutella spread on top of the chocolate, or a swirl of caramel.
- Change The Chicks: You can easily change out the Peeps chicks to suit any holiday. You can find themed Peeps around most holidays. Make this recipe with trees or snowmen for Christmas or pumpkins and ghosts for Halloween. They even have themed peeps like Birthday peeps. You can also use regular marshmallows or theme marshmallows that aren’t Peeps marshmallows to create your own custom dip.
- Delicious Dippers: This dip goes great with any type of dipping cracker or cookie such as honey graham crackers, chocolate graham crackers, vanilla wafers, teddy grahams, or butter cookies. You can also serve it with fruit such as strawberries or bananas. For a salty and sweet combination, you can use Ritz crackers or saltine crackers. Pretzels or pretzel rods are also delicious dippers.
